It's partially covered there as it is being cleaned and restored.
A memorial to Mozart!
And the flower arrangement in treble-cleft form in the foreground!
I thought this was great! Everyone, drink water!!
We were among many tourists in Vienna, but the city was big enough for all of us! It's a very nice city. I liked this guy's feather in his hat!
This is in the garden area, on the backside actually, of the Belvedere Palace. It's actually a part of the print on one of the Euro coins!
Another massive church! This one is in the center of one of the main town squares. It is downtown right on a huge pedestrian shopping street!
That night we went to the Opera! We had tickets for standing room and it was a fabulous experience. We were so very happy that we went. Being in Vienna, such a classical city, we felt it only appropriate for us to culture-ize ourselves. We couldn't see much, but they had little screens that posted what was being sang in English. VERY interesting!
This is a cool clock that has a character march across the face of the clock on every hour. However, at noon any viewers, such as ourselves, get a real treat in seeing all of the 12 characters rotate around!
We devoured a brat and hot dog, another "must" we thought!
We went to the Sigmund Freud Museum! The museum is in his actual residence, prior to fleeing to London. His home and office were side by side.
This is the waiting room with the original furniture that Freud used! Anna, his daughter owned it after his passing and later donated it to the museum.
A bust made of Freud, which lead to some debate about whether or not it actually looks like him...I think I would have to argue that it does not look like him? Anyone else have an opinion?
What better to complete our stay in Austria than to go see a live performance of The Sound of Music?! IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! We both enjoyed it so much and thought the performance was both fun and powerful. Very talented people. We're excited to get home and watch it again in English!
Farewell to Austria for now. It was a lovely time. We are excited to return to Copenhagen as this is the longest we have been away since we first arrived. From the point of our return we will have slightly longer than two weeks to our return back to our beloved family, friends and Kansas!
Although our time abroad is now very short we still have a decent amount of exploring to do around Denmark. Next weekend we're renting a car and seeing all that we can of Fyn and Jylland!
